How long have you been planning events and how did you become an event planner?

 

I like encouraging, inspiring and motivating people to do and be their best, and to shoot for the stars because its never to late to make your dreams happens. I am always helping people whenever the need arises… it’s who I am first and foremost. I was becoming entrenched in the event planning arena and didn’t even know it. It all began over 30 years ago when my best friend became engaged and I began assisting her with planning every aspect of her wedding, including her bridal shower. From there, as favors for family and friends, I also began planning and coordinating other events like baby showers, birthday parties, anniversaries, social gatherings, family reunions, etc. In the midst of helping friends and family, I also worked in various aspects of the administrative field [over 30+ years] with the federal government, corporate and non-profit organizations where I was also responsible for coordinating and/or assisting with the planning and execution of various types of meetings, events and fundraisers, large and small.

 

It was becoming abundantly clear to me that although I love helping people, I really enjoyed planning events, ESPECIALLY weddings! After considerable thought and continued encouragement to turn my passion for helping people plan & coordinate events into a business, Jus Gorjus was founded in 2011.  

 

What makes wedding and event planning worthwhile for Jus Gorjus are the end results and appreciation of a job well done; helping our clients by encorporating their dreams and turning them into a reality; seeing their faces and witnessing that blissful moment when their emotions have been overcome with delightment and extreme joy; and last but not least - the clients who have become lifelong friends.  These are the moments... the reasons that keep me going.

What sets me apart is the diversity of my experience and background. I am highly competent, capable and resourceful with good all-around experience of event development, management and marketing. I am self-motivated, very enthusiastic and… with a can-do and positive attitude, I have proven the ability to ensure the smooth running of an event while keeping a level head at all times. I consider no job too big or too small.

 

My experience in various aspects of the administrative field with variety of employers and staffing levels (federal, corporate, and non-profit), coupled with my passion for providing great customer service and going above and beyond provide me with a unique level of professionalism. 

 

As a wedding planner, first and foremost, I am a project manager – and my job is to manage the client’s event and the vendors involved making sure everyone stays on task and on time. I also have strong organization & project management skills (not everyone in this business has!!), for example: I am creating a systematic and streamlined process of how our team will work with each client. This way, no matter which team member you work with, your experience will be red carpeted the Jus Gorjus way.

 

As the owner/operator, I am fully engaged with my team as well as vendors that are hired for an event – we pull together and support each other to ensure the affair is a huge success. Because I am laser-focused, what you get with me is personal attention, professional expertise and impeccable personalized service delivered with integrity, grace and style. My creativity, passion, enthusiasm and drive will assist in making your event “an affair to remember”. I will bring your vision to reality without compromising my number one priority: stellar and superior customer service, the Jus Gorjus way! That’s why my clients get great results, vendors love working with me, and of course I always offer a LOT of compassion, humor, fun, motivation and encouragement.

This all sounds so wonderful but it also seems expensive, are we going to be able to afford this?

 

SAVINGS: TIME… What a relief it is when you have a partner in your planning process! Hiring an event planner is a luxurious necessity. For starters, we are guaranteed to save you time and hassle, reduce stress, and actually save you money. A typical wedding requires at least 200 hours of planning and a corporate event requires at least 150 of planning. That’s FIVE 40-hour work weeks for a wedding and FOUR 40-hour work weeks for a corporate event. Can you imagine that? The schedule of most busy professionals will not allow for that, can yours? Besides, can you put a price on peace of mind?

SAVINGS: MONEY… It is my responsibility to keep your expenses at or even below your budget ceiling. Because we are continually planning events, we have established many strong relationships with vendors. Who do you work best with? What is expected of me?

Will I lose control of my event if you are planning it for me?

 

Not at all. Hiring a wedding planner is like having a personal assistant who is there to do all of the calling, ordering and looking after details that you may not have time to do. Our goal is to give you the peace of mind that comes with trusting that we are taking care of every detail. During the planning process, we will give you guidance and advice based on my professional experience, but you will make the final decision. We will handle as little or as much as you would like. Whether you need someone there from the beginning to assist you with every detail, just manage the day-of your event, or something in between, we will work with you to get down to the essentials so that we can ensure every detail of your event reflects your vision.

 

Will you have additional staff working with you?

 

With our basic event planning services, you can expect to have at least three team members working the event. Based upon the size and complexity of your event, one additional team member is required per every 50 guests.

 

Will you work with the vendors I’ve already found or people I really want to work with?

 

We believe that it’s crucial that you have a team of professionals whose portfolio you not only like but a team that you can trust, a team that will work and communicate well together, and a team that will continuously provide “red carpet” treatment the Jus Gorjus way.

 

We take our responsibility as a trusted vendor and partner seriously. So the answer to your question is yes, we will gladly work with any vendor you select for your event. We also have a selection of excellent and highly qualified vendors in our partnership program that can be suitably matched to fit your needs. Do you take credit cards and do you have a payment plan?

 

Yes. We happily accept all major credit cards via pay pal and square. That’s how we do most of our business actually. Once we receive your non-refundable retainer, we are pleased to be able to offer the option of setting up automatic payments. With automatic payment set-up, you will never have to worry about sending checks and you will not have to be bothered with financial matters on the day of your event.

 

Do you have liability insurance?

 

Yes, we most certainly do. Whether it's a wedding, an intimate cocktail party, a black-tie affair, or an indoor or outdoor event, some things are always out of your control. As an event planning business, our job is to be prepared and to ensure every last detail of our client’s event is in order, including liability insurance. Having liability insurance in place gives client’s, our team, and our vendors peace of mind in knowing that we are protected against the kind of circumstances that no one can plan for and may occur anyway.

 

Do you take more than one event per day?

 

At this time, Jus Gorjus does not take on more than one event per day. Our goal is to provide you with “an affair to remember”. Your event will be our primary focus from start to finish the day of your event.
