HOW DO I BECOME AN INTERN?
Internships are important since you are provided with the opportunity to learn and gain experience. Internships with Jus Gorjus are tailored for persons interested in a career within the wedding and event planning industry. Jus Gorjus offers an intense internship program to those that are serious about wanting to learn all that goes into planning a fabulous and Jus Gorjus event. Although we offer unpaid internships, you will gain much experience and on top of that be a part of something great!
Our ideal interns are gregarious outgoing multi-tasking interns who can problem solve and think on their feet; interns who are also responsible, reliable, well organized, team oriented, aggressive, proactive and innovative. Our internship program is a "hands-on" and rewarding opportunity at a small company for the enthusiastic guy or gal pursuing a career in event design and/or planning. HOW CAN I GET STARTED IN EVENT PLANNING? WHAT SHOULD I DO TO PREPARE MYSELF FOR THIS CAREER?
The best place to start is with an organization where you can learn the event industry in general and see what goes on behind the scenes at events. Here are some ideas:
1. Perhaps this could be an internship or job in hospitality or with a décor rental company, etc. These opportunities offers a fantastic view into events!
2. Don’t be afraid to take a position with a quality caterer or hotel where you can work large events on a regular basis. Even answering the phones in the catering office can introduce you to some fantastic vendors and challenge you to learn how to problem solve for events. These are great learning opportunities and the experience gained will be invaluable.
